Autorenard is the professional platform of CARBUZZ SARL (CarBuzz24 brand), a French buying intermediary. It gives verified European professionals access to three separate French sources: B2B vehicles ready to buy, off-market cars owned by private sellers who have just requested a valuation, and cars already listed on French classified sites. On every purchase from a private seller, CarBuzz24 contacts the seller in French, signs a sales mandate, inspects the vehicle on site against 150 points, checks the four French documents, secures payment in a secure escrow account and completes the export formalities.

The professional buys directly from the seller. CarBuzz24 is never the owner of the vehicle and takes no commission on the price of the car: our fee is a fixed amount per vehicle, of €790, invoiced separately to the professional. A car bought from a French private seller carries no VAT and can be resold under the margin scheme.

What protects you when buying cross-border from a private seller

A SEPA transfer cannot be recalled, you cannot read a French document file from abroad, and the seller will not wait a fortnight for you.

Registration certificate, administrative status certificate, roadworthiness test and Histovec checked and translated in the report.

The vehicle may be encumbered

A sale from a private individual to a professional carries no conformity warranty in the EU; the inspection report is your protection.

A fixed fee per vehicle. Nothing on the price of the car.

An intermediary paid on the purchase price has an interest in seeing it rise. This one does not. These fees apply exclusively to purchases from French private sellers (sources 02 and 03); vehicles from the B2B catalogue are sold at their listed price, margin included.

Fees apply solely to purchases from private sellers; remuneration differs from one source to another: vehicles from the B2B catalogue at the price of each listing, margin included, with no fee, no escrow and no inspection; storage free for 14 days then €4 / day; prices excluding VAT, intra-Community reverse charge where applicable.

Straight answers.

Can a foreign professional buy from a French private seller?

Yes, with no residency condition. The seller declares the transfer, the registration document receives the export marking and the vehicle is removed from the French register. You then register it in your own country.

Is there any VAT?

No: a private individual is not VAT-registered, so there is no VAT on the price of the vehicle. One exception: a vehicle under 6 months old or with less than 6,000 km counts as a new means of transport, and VAT is then due in your own country.

Can I resell under the margin scheme?

In principle yes, a vehicle bought from a private individual is eligible. Implementation differs in each Member State: confirm it with your accountant. This page is not tax advice.

Who can open a professional account?

Verified professionals only. We manually check the company registration and the intra-Community VAT number. Approval within one working day.

What is an administrative status certificate?

It is the official statement that the vehicle carries no lien and no opposition. It must be less than 15 days old. Without it, the transfer cannot complete.

What is Histovec?

A free French government service. It traces successive owners, the mileage recorded at each roadworthiness test and any damaged-vehicle procedures.

What happens if the inspection is bad?

Your deposit is refunded in full, or we renegotiate the price based on the findings. Around one vehicle in four is rejected: that rejection rate is part of the service.

How long does a purchase take?

8 to 15 working days from reservation to collection, transport on top. Allow 2 to 5 days by driven delivery, 10 to 15 days by truck.
